Participant Feedback
A cross-section of responses from participants across different sessions and programmes, collected May–June 2025.
Somchai K.
Ubon Ratchathani · Workshop
"I went to the workshop not really knowing what to expect. The group was small enough that I felt comfortable asking questions — which I did several times. The written summary they hand out at the end was genuinely useful to take home."

Pattama W.
Warin Chamrap · Toolkit
"Setting up the folder structure took me about an afternoon. I am not especially good with computers but the guide was written very plainly. I would have appreciated a little more explanation in one of the pension sections, but overall it did what I needed."

Nittaya R.
Ubon Ratchathani · Support Circles
"I was nervous about the first session, but the facilitator made the room feel settled from the start. Just hearing other people describe the same feelings I had about leaving work was reassuring in a way I had not expected. I attended all the sessions."

Anan T.
Phibun Mangsahan · Workshop
"What I appreciated was that the facilitator was honest about the limits of the session. When someone asked a very specific financial question, the response was clearly explained — 'that's outside what we cover here, here's the kind of professional who could help with that.' That kind of transparency matters."

Janet B.
Ubon Ratchathani · Toolkit & Workshop
"I used both the workshop and the toolkit. They complement each other well — the session gave me a general picture and the toolkit gave me something to do with it. The email follow-up after the workshop was also useful; I sent two questions and received clear replies within a couple of days."

Wirat C.
Ubon Ratchathani · Support Circles
"I was sceptical going in — I am not someone who usually talks about personal things in a group. But the group was small and the facilitator was careful about not putting anyone on the spot. By the third session I was contributing more than I expected. Worth attending."

Participant Journeys
A closer look at how three participants used Quietacre's offerings at different points in their retirement transition.
Malee L. — Ubon Ratchathani
Used: Workshop → Toolkit
Starting Point
Malee was around fourteen months from her planned retirement date and had a collection of documents across several different folders and email threads, with no reliable way to find what she needed quickly.
What She Did
She attended a workshop first to get a clearer picture of what the administrative process generally involves, then used the toolkit to restructure her documents around the categories the workshop introduced.
Outcome
Within two weeks she had a single organised folder structure with all her relevant paperwork in place. She described the process as "the most useful two days of preparation I've done."
David P. — Ubon Ratchathani (expat resident)
Used: Support Circles
Starting Point
David had retired early but was finding the adjustment more difficult than expected — particularly the loss of daily structure and professional identity. He had not spoken about this with anyone.
What He Did
He joined a support circle after reading about Quietacre online. As one of the smaller groups, it included a mix of Thai nationals and other expat residents, which he found unexpectedly useful.
Outcome
By the end of the programme David described having a clearer sense of what he was finding difficult and why. "It wasn't advice — it was just being heard. That's what I needed, and I didn't know it until I was in the room."
